A teacher standing by a whiteboard explaining a lesson to students in a bright classroom.

Read and Understand

Meet Sarah. She is an English teacher, and she loves to explain grammar to her students. Today, she wants to teach them about the present simple tense. She tells her class that we use the present simple tense to talk about habits, routines, and facts that are always true.

“For example,” Sarah says, “I wake up at seven o’clock every morning. This is my daily routine.” She writes the sentence on the board. Then, she asks her students to share their own activities. One student says he plays football on weekends, while another says she reads a book before bed.

Sarah reminds them that the present simple tense is also used for general facts. “Water boils at 100 degrees Celsius,” she explains. By the end of the lesson, the students understand how to use this important tense in their everyday conversations.
